The majority of nurses at USC Verdugo Hills Hospital have voted to strike.

The vote was held for nurses at the hospital for the last two days, in the end 85% of nurses voted to strike.

The RN council will meet next Wednesday and will decide what next steps to take, according to Dinorah Williams, union representative.

The union’s next negotiation with management is scheduled for Friday.

The USC VHH registered nurses voted to join the California Nurses Association/National Nurses Union in March 2014 by a 72% vote. Since then the negotiations between the nurses’ union and USC VHH have been more negative than positive, Williams said.
