March 26

700 block of Greenridge Drive in La Cañada Flintridge, deputies responded to a call concerning a burglary. The resident reported returning home to find someone in his home. The rear facing glass door to the home had been kicked in. When deputies arrived they found the house had been ransacked and several items were strewn across the floor. A white fabric mattress cover had been used as a makeshift bag and had several items inside. The fabric had been left in the backyard. The resident reported that as he entered the house an unknown suspect began yelling unintelligible at him. The suspect then ran past him and out of the house.

The suspect was described as a male, about 5’10” tall and weighing about 170 pounds. He was wearing a black baseball cap turned backwards, a black medical mask, black long sleeved shirt, black jeans and gloves. The suspect had a Bluetooth device inserted in his ear and the victim reported it felt he was communicating with someone outside. The incident occurred between 10:15 a.m. and 11:20 a.m.

1100 block of Lavender Lane in La Cañada Flintridge, a package was stolen from a home. Surveillance footage revealed a male suspect, wearing a white shirt and dark shorts and driving a four door silver sedan, had gotten out of the vehicle and walked up the driveway and took the package between 5:20 p.m. and 5:22 p.m.

March 24

4300 block of Beulah Drive in La Cañada Flintridge, deputies responded to the activation of a burglar alarm. Deputies discovered a patio door of the home was damaged; however, it did not appear anyone entered the home.

The attempted residential burglary occurred overnight.

March 23

2500 block of Mayfield Avenue in Montrose, the passenger side rear window was shattered and the body of the car was damaged overnight.

March 22

3000 block of Gertrude Avenue in La Crescenta, a resident left his home but then began receiving alerts on his cellphone from his home’s motion detecting alarm. He witnessed a male adult wearing what appeared to be a reflective vest jump over a retaining wall on his property and onto the roof of his home. The suspect apparently adjusted the security camera to point toward the sky. The resident was able to yell at the man, which appeared to frighten him, and he fled the area. The resident called a friend to check his home and he found a window had been shattered but no entry was made into the home.

Upon further investigation the surveillance footage revealed a male adult, wearing a reflective vest, green shirt, gray pants, black boots, white patterned mask and a bucket hat, walked to the front steps of the residence. The suspect knocked on the resident’s door; he was holding a leaf blower in his left hand. The suspect knocked several times and appeared to be speaking to himself. A separate camera captured a light blue Toyota Sienna driving westbound from the location. Later the suspect was seen walking on the roof of the garage.

The attempted residential burglary occurred between 10:30 a.m. and 11:03 a.m.

2300 block of Del Mar Road in Montrose, a catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle overnight.
