Easter Carnival Coming to Sunland Park
Sunland-Tujunga’s Chamber of Commerce is hosting the annual Sunland-Tujunga’s Easter Carnival, an event they’ve held for over 50 years, at Sunland Park. This year’s Easter Carnival promises to be the best with newer rides, yummy food choices, vendors, Easter egg hunts on both Saturday and Sunday with the hidden golden egg containing a special treat. There will also be games and contests, outdoor entertainment, bands, an inside the park petting zoo, Easter Bunny and Ronald McDonald making guest appearances. Flexible entry pricing accommodates all family needs. A one price for “all rides all day ticket” is available for $25 or there is a $5 entry fee and individual ride tickets can be purchased at the booths. Tour of Proposed Preserve
The Arroyos & Foothills Conservancy will be conducting a public tour/hike of the proposed Rosemont Preserve on Saturday, April 14 at 9 a.m. The Rosemont Preserve is located at the top of Rosemont Avenue in La Crescenta. It is requested all visitors park their cars at Two Strike Park (located ¼ mile below the Preserve site).


Golf Tournament Benefits Scholarship Fund
The Montrose Verdugo City Chamber of Commerce is planning its Golf Classic fundraiser to provide scholarships to selected seniors at Crescenta Valley and Clark Magnet high schools.

This tournament takes place on Thursday, May 3 and includes great participant goodies, lunch, beverages (water, sodas, beer) on the course, and fun casual golf.  This is a par-3 course that is comfortable for men and women, the beginner to the advanced.

The tax deductible fee is $60 for an individual and $200 for a foursome.

Tickets on Sale for Taste of Montrose
Tickets for the annual Taste of Montrose fundraiser are now on sale. Tickets cost $20 for the event that takes place along Honolulu Avenue from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 6. Tickets are available at the Montrose and La Crescenta UPS Stores, Merle Norman Cosmetics on Honolulu Avenue, the Montrose Verdugo City and Crescenta Valley chambers of commerce, CV High School and the offices of Crescenta Valley Weekly. All proceeds benefit Crescenta Valley High School’s Prom Plus committee.

More than 20 restaurants are expected to participate.

“Splash Week” at  the  “Y”
During spring break, the Crescenta-Cañada and Verdugo Hills Family YMCAs will host their annual Splash Week. Children will learn water safety practices and basic swimming skills. Both pool time and classroom time will be incorporated with trained YMCA instructors. This exciting week of pool safety and fun is open to kids ages 6-12.

For those on spring break from April 2-6, the Verdugo Hills Family YMCA is offering Splash Week from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Monday through Friday. The cost is $30 for members and $40 for non-members for the entire week.

For those on spring break from April 9-13, the Crescenta-Cañada Family YMCA will be hosting Splash Week from 9 a.m. to noon, Monday through Friday. The cost is $40 for the week.
