FOREST ROADS TO CLOSE DUE TO STORM

The County of Los Angeles Department of Public Works has announced that, based on the forecast of rain, snow and icy road conditions, it will close public access to the following County roads within the Angeles Forest by 11:30 PM, Thursday, April 12:

· Angeles Forest Highway from Aliso Canyon Road to Upper Big Tujunga Canyon Road
· Upper Big Tujunga Canyon Road from Angeles Forest Highway to SR-2 (Angeles Crest Highway)

Access will be maintained for emergency vehicles, including Public Works personnel. Local access will not be permitted until weather conditions have improved, the roads have been made safe for travel and closures have been lifted.

Kerjon Lee, Public Affairs manager for L.A. County Public Works, said the Department was taking this action as a safety precaution.

“We urge residents to continue to monitor news broadcasts, or visit the CARE website at www.dpwcare.org for further updates,” Lee said

Residents, business owners and persons with access or functional needs may also call 2-1-1 for L.A.
