CVTC Meets Tonight
The Crescenta Valley Town Council meets tonight, Thursday, April 17 at 7 p.m. in the La Crescenta Library.
The agenda includes time set aside for public comments so residents can voice concerns about the possible territory transfer from GUSD to LCUSD, the “Sagebrush” area. All comments will be forwarded to GUSD.
In addition, City of La Cañada Councilmember Laura Ohlasso will give an update on La Cañada.
New waste hauler Burrtec will speak as will the National Charity League, which will offer updates on the former senior facility Twelve Oaks.

Free Paper Shredding Event
Water and Power Community Credit Union (WPCCU) is holding free paper shredding events for the public at its four branch locations on Friday, April 25 and Saturday, April 26. Attendees can bring up to five boxes or bags of paperwork, including bank statements, receipts, tax records and financial statements, for easy, safe and secure shredding. Games and giveaways like eco-friendly tote bags and water bottles will be included.
The public is invited to the Sun Valley branch, 8413 Laurel Canyon Blvd. in Sun Valley on Saturday, April 26 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
GEF Summer School App Deadline Approaching
The deadline for students to submit an application for GEF summer school is tomorrow, Friday, April 18. A paper copy of the registration form must be submitted to a GUSD school site or to the GEF office at the district.

‘Open Gate’ at Rosemont Preserve
The Rosemont Preserve is having an “Open Gate” event on Sunday, April 20 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. This is a chance to visit the Preserve and wander the trail at your leisure. Friends of the Rosemont Preserve committee members will be available to answer questions.
All are welcome. Those planning to attend should wear sturdy shoes.
The Preserve is located at the north end of Rosemont Avenue, just past the chain link fence. As street parking is limited, park at Two Strike Park, 5107 Rosemont Ave. in La Crescenta.
