Montrose Search and Rescue Called Out

 

UPDATE: The missing hiker was located at 6:45 a.m. this morning.

“She was found at a home and safe,” said Lt. Mark Hershey, Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station.

Apparently she had been separated from her hiking party on Tuesday. After the hike she went to the home to spend the night. When she realized she had been reported missing she contacted the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station.

The Montrose Search and Rescue team were called out at about 3 a.m. Wednesday morning to help with the search.

Missing Hiker: Wednesday morning 5 a.m.

The Montrose Search and Rescue team was called out early this morning to assist in a search for a missing hiker in the Castaic area.

The 32-year-old female was hiking in the area and scheduled to return around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday night. When she did not return friends called the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station at 9:30 p.m. to report her missing. said Lt. Mark Hershey.
