Earth Day 2012
An Earth Day event is taking place on Saturday, April 21 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. A wilderness workday and plant hike is planned at Deukmejian Wilderness Park. Everyone is invited to enjoy a beautiful spring morning and help in restoration efforts then take a hike with Restoration Ecologist Melanie Keeley to learn about the native plants and spring wildflowers.

Teen Center Holding Fundraiser
The Fire House Teen Center is holding a fundraiser on Wednesday, April 25 from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Baja Fresh Mexican Grill at 2637 Foothill Blvd. in La Crescenta.

When the flyer is brought in at time of ordering, 15% of the proceeds will go to the Fire House. This offer is good for dine in and take out orders.

Collectibles
The Foothill Crafts & Collectibles Market is set to open on  April 21 at the northwest corner of Foothill Boulevard and Briggs Avenue. The ongoing event is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on alternating Saturdays. Dates through summer are: April 21, May 5, May 19 and June 2, June 16 and June 30.

This is a family-friendly community activity featuring crafts, antiques, collectibles and memorabilia as well as community service and organizational booths.

The event is sponsored by the Center for Spiritual Living of La Crescenta and a portion of the proceeds from the market will go to the Fire House Youth Center in La Crescenta.

Relay For Life Hosting Luminaria Ceremony
On April 21 at 7 p.m. there will be a mini-luminaria ceremony in front of the Vietnam War Memorial on the northwest corner of Oceanview and Honolulu in support of the upcoming Foothill Relay for Life. Organizers will have guest speakers and then a short walk will take place around Montrose with candles to celebrate, remember and fight back for those friends, family and loved ones who have lost their fight or are battling cancer.

The public is encouraged to attend this event.
