A pursuit that began on Saturday at Glendale Avenue and Alvarado Street in
Los Angeles ended with a car crashing into the front fence of a home in the 2500 block of Altura Avenue in
La Crescenta.
Los Angeles Police were conducting an undercover narcotic operation when the suspect fled in his vehicle, said Sgt. Sanford Rosenberg of LAPD.
The chase from Los Angeles to La Crescenta ended at about 2:15 p.m. when the suspect’s car collided with another vehicle. Witnesses reported that the collision sounded like an explosion. The suspect’s vehicle crashed through bushes, trash cans and a fence on an elevated garden. The victim in the second vehicle was transported to the hospital with apparent minor injuries.
The suspect then crawled out of his vehicle and fled into the nearby Altura Avenue
neighborhood.  LAPD patrol
officers with helicopter support began searching the area including the 2500 block of
Prospect Avenue.
“They found him hiding in the bushes,” Rosenberg said.
“We did recover quite a bit of
[what is suspected to be] crystal
meth (methamphetamine).”
Officers had not released the name of the suspect at press time.
The investigation is ongoing.
