At its most recent board meeting on April 14, the Crescenta Valley Water District voted to hold off on the distribution of a Prop 218 notice, which is required in advance of any discussion of a rate increase, effectively delaying any increase for now.
The item appeared on the agenda as part of the district’s budget preparations but any action on increases are on hold, according to district spokesperson Christy Colby, “to help customers facing financial hardships from the COVID-19 pandemic, Crescenta Valley Water District Board of Directors, on April 14 voted to delay rate increase discussions that were scheduled for June 2020. Like with much going on out there, currently there is no time frame set to bring that back to the board.”
There is no estimate yet as to the fiscal impact this action may have on the district going forward.
