From April 18 to April 20, the Sunland-Tujunga Chamber of Commerce presented the Annual Spring Carnival at Sunland Park, which included special guest Ronald McDonald and an Easter egg hunt with the Easter Bunny. Perhaps the best part was admission to the event was free. Mark Seigel, member of the Sunland-Tujunga Chamber and chair of the event, said he was glad how volunteers came together to help put on a community event.
“With everyone working together, the chamber members and the service organizations, it all worked out great,” Seigal said. “Everyone had a good time.”
People enjoyed the carnival rides, food trucks, market vendors and entertainment at the three-day event. The marketplace vendors featured crafts, businesses and local non-profits.
Zumba dancers were on stage for two of the days and there was live music by Teenagers in Disguise and South of Ziggy. Los Angeles City Recreation and Parks Dept. presented arts and crafts for children, as well as the much anticipated Easter egg hunt.
The Easter Bunny was taking pictures with kids throughout the day. Arthur Moore, a resident who has been in the town for 42 years, he said he has been at the carnival every year and likes the fact that it is free once again.
“I think it’s great,” Moore said. “It’ll bring more people in and they will spend more money rather than having a gate cost to get in.”
The Spring Carnival offers opportunities for vendors and sponsors each year. Call the chamber at (818) 352-4433 for information.
