April 24
4500 block of Valley Sun Lane in La Cañada, numerous computers and equipment were stolen from California Energy Design between April 22-24.
April 21
4800 block of La Cañada Boulevard in La Cañada, deputies responded to investigate a report of possible illegal peddling within the city of La Cañada Flintridge. They found a 25-year-old Reseda man matching the description that had been given to them. The man gave a false name and birth date. The man did not have any identification on him. He reportedly told police he had left it with his supervisor in the van that dropped him off in the neighborhood. The supervisor drove back; the deputies did not find the man’s identification. The name that was given initially to the officers appeared to have a warrant attached. Deputies arrested the man. Reportedly while the Reseda man was being driving to the Crescenta Valley Station he told the deputies his real name. He said he was concerned that he may have had an outstanding warrant. He did not. He was arrested for giving false information to a law enforcement officer. The incident occurred at 2 p.m.
April 20
4300 block of Ramsdell Avenue in La Crescenta, a resident was sitting in his kitchen when he noticed a man who appeared to be rummaging through his vehicle. He ran out and approached the man who in turn ran westbound on Prospect Avenue. He was described as 15-to-18 years old and wearing an orange hoodie sweatshirt at 8:45 p.m.
3100 block of Prospect Avenue in La Crescenta, deputies responded to the area regarding a vehicle burglary. The victim was reportedly chasing the suspect who was described as wearing shorts and a brown or orange hooded sweatshirt. Deputies reportedly saw a man walking on the street westbound on Prospect Avenue matching the description. Deputies noticed he had been sweating as if he had been running. They noticed a bag in the front of his sweatshirt pocket. After an investigation a brownish substance resembling hashish was found along with paraphernalia. The incident occurred at 9:01 p.m.
2500 block of Manhattan Avenue in La Crescenta, a woman reported that she had placed her luggage at the end of her driveway. She was waiting for an airport shuttle. She went back into her home for another item and when she returned her luggage was gone. At 4:22 p.m.
2400 block of Carol Park Place in La Crescenta, a wallet and camera were stolen and the front driver’s window was smashed on a vehicle overnight.
April 18
2600 block of Altura Avenue in La Crescenta, a man noticed the window screens to his kitchen window were missing. He found the screens lying on the ground. It appeared someone had bent the frame and tore the screens off. The resident was home all weekend and reported that he heard nothing and no one entered his home without permission. The incident occurred between April 16-18.
