The Jerry Herman Awards, a celebration of the achievement and excellence in high school musical theatre in Los Angeles, announced that Village Christian School in Sun Valley has received multiple nominations for its production of “Disney’s Beauty and the Beast,” including Best Costume Design, Best Musical Direction, Best Production and Best Supporting Actress (Juliette Walz as Babette). 

 

The annual awards show will take place at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre on Sunday, May 5 at 6 p.m., when VCS will also be one of four schools to perform on the mainstage. This year’s show marks the second time VCS Theatre Arts has performed at Pantages Theatre, having also appeared in 2016, when it took home the award for Best Live Performance for its medley from “Mary Poppins.”
