May 10

500 block of Meadow View Drive in La Cañada, a woman returned home and went to bed at approximately 11:30 p.m. When she woke up at approximately 7:30 a.m. the next morning, she noticed her cat was gone and discovered the sliding door at her home had been shattered. She looked around the house but saw nothing missing. She called deputies who reviewed the video surveillance. The video showed the suspects’ vehicle, a 2019 Jeep Compass, made an initial pass at 6:25 a.m. The vehicle passed again a few minutes later and parked nearby her home. There were three suspects: Suspect 1 is described as a man, 6’ and weighing 155 lbs. Suspect 2 was described as a man, 5’5” tall and weighing 100 lbs. and Suspect 3 did not have a description. The footage showed Suspect 1 and 2 exiting the vehicle and went into the home’s backyard, looking into windows and crouching at times. Suspect 3 stayed in the vehicle. Suspect 1 used a device to shatter the glass sliding door at about 6:35 a.m. and entered the home. Shortly after that, the suspects quickly exited the home apparently startled by something. They got into the waiting vehicle and left the area at 6:40 a.m.

 

May 9

1000 block Green Lane in La Cañada, a witness reported seeing two suspects, described only as two black men, at the residence across the street from his home. One of the men appeared to be looking around the residence to see if anyone was home.  The man looked in the windows of the garage, he then jumped the back gate of the home. The witness called 911 and while he was on the phone with deputies, the two suspects walked out of the front door carrying several items including a safe. The home owner, who was not home at the time, said he was alerted by his door bell alarm that someone was at his front door. He saw a man with a black hoodie sweatshirt, his face covered, at his front door. He did not recognize the man so he hit the panic alarm via his cellphone. Several items were stolen. The burglary occurred at 11:21 a.m.

 

2900 block of Alabama Street in La Crescenta, a catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle overnight.

 

May 8

3000 block of Prospect Avenue in La Crescenta, a resident reported viewing his home surveillance footage and saw a person enter his unlocked vehicle, ransack the interior and steal items at 3:43 a.m.

 

2300 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada, the rear passenger side window was shattered and several items, including a purse, were stolen from a vehicle. The victim received a call from her bank stating her card had been used for a purchase, which she did not authorize. The vehicle burglary occurred between 6 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

 

May 7

2600 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta, a cashier reported seeing a woman described as black, about 30 years old, 5’6” tall, weighing 200lbs, with brown hair in two pony tails, walk toward the exit of the store with a shopping cart full of items. She did not attempt to pay. As the cashier told her she needed to stop, the woman yelled at the cashier and continued to walk out of the store. She put the items into a four-door silver Mitsubishi and drove away at 7:45 p.m.

 

May 3

2700 block of Los Olivos Street in La Crescenta, a catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle overnight.

 

4400 block of Indiana Avenue in La Cañada, a package was stolen from the front porch of a home at 12:46 p.m.
