2300 block of Mira Vista Avenue in Montrose, a resident reported that she had parked her car next to her minivan in the parking garage of her apartment complex. When she returned she found someone had ransacked her minivan. Her car was not parked in the spot where she had left it but instead was about 100 feet away near the automatic gate. It appeared the suspect/suspects found an extra key for the car in the minivan however did not find the remote that opens the parking garage gate. The thefts and attempted theft occurred between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m.

3100 block of Orange Avenue in La Crescenta, someone broke the front driver side door handle of a vehicle between 5 a.m. and 2:45 p.m.

 

May 11

2600 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta, a store manager reported a woman described as black, between 25 and 30 years old, 5’3″ tall, weighing 125 pounds with black hair and brown eyes entered the store carrying two big bags on her shoulder. She walked throughout the store browsing the merchandise. She picked up a purse and placed it on her right shoulder and continued to walk about the store, then exited the store without attempting to pay for the purse. She got into the passenger side of a waiting vehicle in the parking lot. The vehicle was described as an older BMW with “very” dark windows. The vehicle left the area. The shoplifting occurred between 11:40 a.m. to 12 p.m.

2600 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta, while deputies were investigating the shoplifting listed above, they found another victim. The manager of a store reported that a woman, matching a  description similar to the suspect  above. The woman walked into the store and immediately walked over to the cosmetics aisle. She browsed the products then moved to the aisle full of alcohol products. As she did she took a reusable shopping bag from a display and put numerous vodka bottles into the bag. The surveillance camera footage shows the woman appeared to be attempting to take the sensor tag off a bottle. She then walked back to the cosmetic aisle and picked up numerous items. Eventually she walked away from the counter, then came back and exited the store without attempting to pay between 11 a.m. to 11:35 a.m.

1800 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada, someone damaged the lock on a mailbox overnight.

May 10

400 block of Inverness Drive in La Cañada, deputies found a sliding glass door was shattered and rooms were ransacked at a residence between 11:45 a.m. to 1:04 p.m.
