On May 20 just after 9 p.m., officers responded to a call of shots fired in the area of West Chevy Chase and San Fernando Road.
A male was seen standing in front of a taco stand when an unidentified attacker approached from behind and fired multiple shots at the victim.
Upon arrival, officers noticed a male down in the middle of San Fernando Road and began life-saving measures until the fire department arrived on scene. Unfortunately, the male later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
Officers were alerted that a juvenile male had been brought to a nearby hospital with a gunshot wound to his arm. The juvenile appeared to be a bystander and is expected to recover.
The suspect fled in an unknown sedan prior to officers’ arrival, but was described as a male, unknown race and wearing dark clothing.
