Janet Hayn

Janet Reneé Sagaser-Hayn passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, May 16.
Janet was the backbone of her family and will be missed by all.
She was a cancer survivor, loyal friend, loving wife and devoted mother to her two teenage children.
Born in New Mexico on Jan. 20, 1958 she spent her formative years in Mexico and Venezuela.  She mastered the language and often surprised people when she went seamlessly from speaking flawless English to flawless Spanish.
Janet was the one everyone went to with their problems. She had an open mind and open heart and was always ready to give a listen followed by a hug.  She loved to read books, watch movies, go out to tea with friends and just visit.
She also loved volunteering for her community. When her children were very young she volunteered as Room Mom and classroom help at their school. When they grew older she became an active member of CVHS Prom Plus and most recently was part of the Prom Plus team for Relay for Life.
She spent the day on Saturday at Relay For Life where she started the day with the survivor walk and ended it with the luminaria.
Her one true passion was being a mother. She never faltered from loving her children and protecting them. She became a surrogate mother to many of her children’s friends.
Janet is survived by her loving husband of 24 years, Jeff; her daughter Amanda; and son Travis; her father B. Chet Sagaser; mother Shirley Marie Raymond; brothers Mike, Pat and Kevin; and sisters Deidra and Brianna along with numerous nieces and nephews.

To her friends and family, Janet was our delight.
A memorial service will be held at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 2563 Foothill Blvd., at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 22. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Janet’s name to American Cancer Society’s Foothills Relay for Life at www.foothillsrelayforlife.com or to Prom Plus, CVHS, 2900 Community Ave., La Crescenta 91214.
