Crescenta Valley Park became a simulated disaster area on Saturday where those injured yelled for help and the Community Emergency Response Team used all of their training skills to keep things calm.
The event was a training session for CERT, based out of the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station. The organization lead by Paul and Lisa Dutton has grown over the years to have well-trained and prepared CV community members, in part due to training days like Saturday.
CERT members are volunteers who have been trained in emergency response techniques. For Saturday’s event, the victims were also volunteers who, through the art of makeup, had everything from minor cuts to major injuries.
