CVHS Students Present Voters Education Project

English students at Crescenta Valley High School created a voter education project that focused on the Los Angeles mayor’s election.

“The basic premise of our project is to use the literature that we read this year to identify issues in society. Our group is focusing on the weaknesses of democracy, as demonstrated in ‘Animal Farm,’” stated Chloe Schroeder, a CVHS 10th grader.

Their “plan of action” is to help educate voters for the June 7 mayoral primary.

“We made an Instagram where we will post simple, unbiased information on each candidate,” she added.

The students realized that some voters do not have time to research candidates so they wanted to do the research for them.

“Our goal is to provide easy-to-read, digestible information through our Instagram account,” Schroeder said.
