The Angeles Crest Highway is scheduled to be open on Friday after a brief presentation. at the entrance to the Angeles National Forest just north of La Cañada Flintridge on SR-2. The section of SR-2 between La Cañada Flintridge and the Angeles Forest is the area expected to be reopened. Highway has been closed since Jan. 17, 2010 when rain storms in the Station Fire burn area of the Angeles National Forest (ANF) washed away several sections of the highway. Additional rains in January 2011 washed away a section of the highway two and half miles east of La Cañada Flintridge delaying the opening of the highway. With the opening of this section of SR-2, motorists will be able to access more locations in the ANF and have an additional route between the Antelope Valley and the San Gabriel Valley.
