Falcon Family truly means something to me, and I write this email from that place.
You deserve to hear from me directly that I have accepted the position of Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources in the South Pasadena Unified School District, and will begin officially
on July 1, 2021. It has been an honor to serve as CV Principal these last eight years. I am so proud of all that we have accomplished together– so many academic, artistic and athletic awards, the ONLY school in the state recognized with two CDE exemplary program awards (Arts, Fitness). My career and life have been enriched by this beautiful community. My thanks to each of you for the collaborative support, for all you have taught me, and for the many ways you have positively impacted my life.
This decision was made after much reflection and discussion with my family– especially as my daughter will be a CV Senior next year. I look forward to working in South Pasadena, where I live, for the same reasons I have loved working in Glendale, where I grew up. Being fully invested and integrated into a community is a beautiful way to live life. I believe in community as a value.
With that said, I feel very connected to the Falcon Family. Leaving this school and this community will be very difficult. The joint determination, working shoulder to shoulder with faculty, parents, students and community partners has led to great success for CV students, and I will forever be proud of and grateful for my time at CV and Glendale Unified (since 1997!). Being committed to ongoing Falcon success, I am working with District leadership and other school leaders to ensure a smooth transition for CV.
Once a Falcon, Always a Falcon!
