BREAKING NEWS: New Rosemont principal named

The Glendale Unified School District has announced that current Fremont Elementary School principal Cynthia Livingston will be assuming the role of principal at Rosemont Middle School.

In a principal musical chairs, Livingston will be taking over the helm at Rosemont after that school’s principal of two years Michele Doll moves on to assume the position at Crescenta Valley High School filling the chief position vacated by soon retiring Linda Evans.

Now the district is looking for a new principal for Fremont Elementary.

At CVHS, Rosemont and Fremont, the principals were well respected by parents and students. During its search, the district said it understood that the task of finding new principals would not be easy but were confident it would find the replacements within its own district ranks. Prior to filling each position district administrators came to the schools to speak with both staff and parents on what qualifications the “ideal” principal would possess.

Richard Sheehan, who himself will be changing jobs from assistant superintendent to superintendent this year, said the district has received many applications for the principal positions.

“We are working off of an active list [of applicants],” he said.
The interviews have already been completed and the district is waiting for feedback from the community before a final decision is made regarding the new principal for Fremont.
