1000 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada, an employee at 7-Eleven realized there was a discrepancy with the sales and inventory of lottery tickets. He reviewed the surveillance footage and discovered that two suspects entered the store, acknowledged the employee behind the counter and, while the employee’s view was obstructed, one of the suspects leaned over the counter and took the lottery tickets. His first attempt failed but he was successful with a second attempt. The second suspect acted as lookout. The suspects were described as male Hispanics in their 20s.
The theft occurred at 12:36 a.m.

3800 block of Park Place in Montrose, a resident reported that someone had entered her locked vehicle and ransacked the contents. She could not confirm that anything was stolen at the time of the report. It appeared the suspect/suspects gained entry into the vehicle by forcing the back passenger window open.
The vehicle burglary occurred between May 29 and May 31.

3800 block of Park Place in Montrose, a resident reported finding the lock on her carport storage unit had been damaged and one of the doors had been ripped from its hinges leaving the contents exposed. The interior of the storage unit had been ransacked but she could not immediately identify anything missing.
The damage occurred overnight.
3800 block of Park Place in Montrose, a resident reported that his carport storage unit had been opened and the upper hinge had been damaged. The contents of the unit had been ransacked and several tools were missing. The resident also reported that his unlocked vehicle had been ransacked as well.

3100 block of Altura Avenue in La Crescenta, a man reported that he had hired an escort for date via the Internet. The man stated he sent the required funds for the transaction via text transfer, but the woman he had hired was not able to meet him at his residence at the appointed time. He rescheduled but was then contacted by a person stating his wire transfer was unsuccessful and he had to transfer additional funds. The unknown man who contacted him texted that for “his own good” he needed to transfer more money. The man transferred more funds via Western Union and was again contacted to send more funds. The man refused and he was sent a video, witnessed by deputies, depicting a male Hispanic adult tied to a chair and then being shot in the head.
The man contacted law enforcement in fear for his life.
The report of criminal threat was made at 7:05 a.m.

3100 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta, a paint sprayer machine, tools and paint were stolen from a storage shed at an apartment complex between May 27 and May 29.
May 24
3600 block of Karen Sue Lane in La Cañada, as a resident was preparing for a backyard party he noticed several lights had been damaged. Upon viewing his surveillance video he saw three unknown males entering his backyard and breaking and damaging all of the landscape lighting. He believes he was home at the time of the vandalism but did not hear anything. The suspects were described as wearing hooded sweatshirts and appeared to wearing gloves. The suspects were also seen attempting to open all doors and windows of the residence but they were locked.
The incident occurred between 10:51 p.m. and 11:04 p.m.
