Glendale’s Clothing Swaps and Repair Cafes Return

After much community demand and participation, the City of Glendale’s Office of Sustainability and Glendale Library, Arts, & Culture announced that the Clothing Swaps and Repair Cafés will be returning to a nearby Glendale Library.

Clothing Swaps are opportunities for community members to donate items, which are collected, sorted and displayed for participants to freely take. Repair Cafés are where skilled volunteers fix, tinker and repair items from clothing holes to dull knives, broken lamps and beyond at no cost. In the first year of the Clothing Swaps and Repair Cafés, over 1,000 lbs. of textiles and clothes were diverted from landfill, over 250 items were repaired and over 500 community attendees and volunteers participated.
