GPD Makes Marijuana Bust
On June 7, Glendale Police arrested seven individuals related to an illegal marijuana grow operation. About 1000 plants were found in a warehouse on San Fernando Road, just inside the Los Angeles city limits, said GPD spokesman Sgt. Tom Lorenz.

The investigation is ongoing.

Public’s Help Sought
The Glendale Police Department is asking the public’s help in locating Euscady Torres. Torres was last seen in Glendale on Monday, June 4. He suffers from diabetes, heart problems, and memory loss along with other medical issues and he does not have his medication with him. Torres has a prosthetic left leg and walks with a cane.

He is 84 years old with gray hair and hazel eyes. He is 5’1” and weighs 100 pounds.

Semi-Annual Low Cost Pet
Wellness Clinic
The City of Glendale City Clerk’s Office will be sponsoring a low cost vaccination clinic for dogs and cats on Thursday, June 28 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the small parking lot directly behind City Hall at 613 E. Broadway.

The City Clerk’s Office will provide dog/cat licensing services. Physical exams, de-worming, flea control, nail trimming and many other services will be offered by Vet Care Vaccination Services, Inc. The costs for dog vaccines are $6 for rabies, $19 for DHP+Parvo, and $18 for Bordetella. Cat vaccines are $6 for rabies, $20 for 4-in-1 (FVCRP) and $25 for feline leukemia.

Identification micro-chips are $45.

All dogs must be on a leash and cats must be in an enclosed container.

GAMC Hosting Dare to Prepare
Glendale Adventist Medical Center Emergency Department will host Dare to Prepare, a free pre-permit workshop for parents and teens on Wednesday, June 27 from 6 p.m. to
8 p.m. at the main auditorium of the Glendale Adventist Medical Center.

The workshop will provide information teens need to know before they take the wheel. This interactive program, geared towards pre-permit drivers (14-15 years of age), walks attendees through the steps necessary to obtain a permit and driver’s license, and offers useful tools, tips and resources to help parents and teens during the learning-to-drive process and beyond.

It is estimated that one in five teen drivers will be in a crash during their first year of driving.

Y to Open Doors for Free Youth Activities
The Crescenta-Cañada Family YMCA will be open to all youth in the community on Friday, June 15 to enjoy free programs and activities for the day. Basketball, swimming, racquetball, gymnastics, Dodgeball, karate, activity centers and more will be available.
