The lights along the crosswalk at Foothill Boulevard and Glenwood Avenue are in place and ready to help keep safer those who make the dash across the boulevard.

The crosswalk is used often by Crescenta Valley High School students when they walk to and from school. Foothill Boulevard is a busy thoroughfare and a dangerous one for those attempting to cross at Glenwood Avenue.

Crescenta Valley Town Council member Robbyn Battles gathered members of the Department of Public Works, Los Angeles County and officers from California Highway Patrol in her continuing effort to create safe walkways for pedestrians, especially students.

The officials watched traffic and pedestrian flow and determined what would be best for the intersection. It was decided that a lighted crosswalk would help the situation.
