Fireworks Tickets on Sale
Tickets are now available for the annual Star Spangled Fireworks Display taking place on Monday, July 4 starting at 4 p.m. at La Crescenta Elementary School, 4343 La Crescenta Ave. in La Crescenta. Admission is $5; children 2 and under are free. There will be food for purchase from food trucks and also carnival rides plus live music.

Planning on CVCA Agenda
The next regular meeting of the Wednesday, June 22 at 7 p.m. the Crescenta Valley Community Association will present information from the L.A. County Planning Department and how those changes will affect La Crescenta. There will also be a review of the proposed new local assembly, senate, and congressional district boundaries.
The meeting is held at Dunsmore Park Community Room, 4700 Dunsmore Ave. in La Crescenta.
Semi-Annual Low Cost Pet Wellness Clinic
The Glendale City Clerk’s Office is sponsoring a low cost vaccination clinic for dogs and cats on Thursday, June 23 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the small parking lot behind city hall. Services include physical exams, de-worming, flea control, nail trimming and others provided by Vet Care Vaccination Services, Inc. Costs range from $6 for rabies vaccines to $25. Identification micro-chips are also available for $45.

Lorenz Guest Speaker at CVDAPC
On Tuesday, June 21 at 6:30 p.m. Sgt. Thomas Lorenz of the Glendale Police Dept. will make presentation on “Sex, Drugs and Social Networking.” This presentation is hosted by the CV Drug And Alcohol Drug Prevention Coalition and will be held in the Verdugo Hills Hospital Community Room on the hospital’s fourth floor.
The agenda will include information on the Coalition’s work with The Firehouse, Prescription Drop Off Program, Teen Crisis Assessment Program and other summer programs and activities and parents’ support meetings. Information will be available on how the public can volunteer to help local kids.

Meeting on North Glendale Plan
The City of Glendale Planning staff has been working with community members to create a plan for future development in North Glendale. The Planning Division will present and receive comments on the Draft North Glendale Community Plan on Wednesday, June 29 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Sparr Heights Community Center at 1613 Glencoe Way.
The public is encouraged to attend to offer insights and opinions on the plan. Information presented and received at this meeting will be forwarded to relevant boards and commissions and City Council to consider when directing their actions.
