News vans are in the Crescenta Valley area, specifically at the CV Sheriff’s Station on Briggs Avenue, not because of fire, flood or bears but because of a person being held in the station’s jail.
Earlier today the California Highway Patrol arrested a man in Altadena on an outstanding warrant. The man, identified as Jerry Patterson, is of interest to the media because he is the apparent victim of a road rage fight that had been recorded by a passerby on the freeway then posted later on YouTube.
The fight appeared to have involved four men, including Patterson, occurred on June 12 on the transition road to the northbound Golden State (5) freeway in the East Los Angeles area. The video was filmed by a passing motorist and then placed on YouTube on June 20.
CHP had shared the video with the public in an effort to help find those involved in the fight. Two of the men who apparently did the beating reportedly turned themselves in to the CHP in Hollywood.
Patterson will be held at the CV Sheriff’s Station jail. It appears the news crews are in the area awaiting a possible Patterson’s release via bail.
