The body that was found in the Vasquez Creek area on Saturday has been identified as missing hiker Ertug Ergun, by Lt. Bale, Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.
“The cause of death was multiple blunt force injuries,” Bale said.
Hikers found Ergun’s body in the water at the bottom of a waterfall in Vasquez Creek.
Ergun was an engineer from Turkey who lived and worked in Bakersfield. He was reported missing on June 20. His vehicle was discovered in the Stonyvale Picnic area parking lot in the Angeles National Forest on June 22. He was described as an avid hiker.
