A pedestrian died after being struck by a suspected DUI driver.
On June 28 at about 4:30 p.m., Burbank police and paramedics responded to the area of Olive Avenue and Glenoaks Boulevard regarding a traffic collision involving a pedestrian. When police officers and paramedics arrived, they located a female in the alley of the 400 block of East Olive Avenue who was suffering from serious injuries. The 76-year-old pedestrian was ultimately pronounced deceased by paramedics.
Police detained the driver and a DUI investigation was conducted.
The male driver of the vehicle was a 64-year-old resident of Burbank who was allegedly determined to be under the influence, arrested and booked into the Burbank City Jail for vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. He has since posted the $100,000 bail. The driver is due to appear in court on Wednesday, July 24 in Burbank. Formal charges are pending review by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
