2500 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta, a window pane was broken and a door that was locked had been left open at the location. Nothing was stolen. The incident occurred between June 28 and July 1.
4500 block of Alta Canyada Road in La Cañada, deputies responded to a call from a woman who reported that a man in a dark hoodie sweatshirt had knocked on the back door of her home. While deputies were on the way to the location another report came in stating that three male blacks had been seen running northbound near the resident’s home.
The resident reported that while she was in the kitchen she heard three knocks on her back door. She looked out her kitchen window and saw a male with a black hoodie running northbound and out of view. Another witness stated she saw three male blacks running toward Flanders Road and out of view. The witness had noticed that one of the men was about 5’10” tall with a thin build and was between 15 and 17 years old. A witness with Neighborhood Watch noticed a white vehicle parked at a nearby 76 service station that he believed was involved in the burglary. The deputies arrived at the service station but the vehicle had left. They were able to find surveillance footage of the vehicle at the station.

2600 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta, person/persons were able to get inside a U.S. Bank ATM machine at the location and ripped off the monitor sensor from the wall and adjusted the surveillance camera’s direction. Nothing taken from the machine.

2700 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta, a 54-year-old woman was arrested for allegedly taking vitamins and other supplements from a business without attempting to pay at 7 p.m.
June 25
2300 block of Mountain Avenue in La Crescenta, cash, a dash cam and personal identity items were stolen from an unlocked vehicle overnight.
2900 block of Stevens Street in La Crescenta, personal information and two window shades were stolen from an unlocked vehicle overnight.
4400 block of La Crescenta Avenue in La Crescenta, a crate and wall were vandalized with spray-painted graffiti overnight.
Angeles Crest Highway, Mile Marker 26 in La Cañada, while a man and his family were hiking in the Angeles National Forest they came upon a campground that had tents leaning up against trees and garbage everywhere. He began taking photos to report it to the U.S. Forest Service when a man described as white with brown hair, about 5’ 8”tall, weighing 140 lbs., exited one of the tents. The man (Suspect 1) grabbed a can of “bear mace” and opened a folding knife and began to advance on the hiker and his family. The hiker saw a bowie knife nearby and picked it up to defend himself and his family, he stated. Suspect 1 called out to others in the campground and a woman described as white, blonde hair, 5’ 5” tall and weighing 100 lbs. (Suspect 2) and two other men (Suspect 3, the fourth did not have a weapon) came out of nearby tents. Suspect 2 was holding an axe and one of the men was holding a tactical tomahawk. All three with weapons began to advance on the hiker and his family when the man without the weapon told all the suspects to back down and not to harm the hiker and his family. The hiker handed the bowie knife to the fourth man and the family left the area.
