500 block of Vista Miguel Road in La Cañada Flintridge, a deputy responded to assist two other deputies who were holding two men, who were occupants in a silver four-door BMW, at gunpoint. The two suspects, identified later as a 24-year-old Mission Hills man and a 21-year-old Northridge man, had been identified by witnesses as men who were approaching homes and identifying themselves as an employee of a delivery company.
After an investigation, deputies discovered several items often used in burglaries, including gloves and metal punches, as well as personal identification that was not in their names. A witness reported seeing one of the men walking in the area, and the silver vehicle passed him. Then he walked into the neighbor’s front yard and remained there for a few minutes.
Another witness had reported seeing a suspicious person. A man in a mail delivery service shirt came to the resident’s door to pick up a package, but the resident didn’t schedule a package pick up. The man left, walking out of view.
The men were arrested for attempted burglary, possession of stolen property and possession of burglary tools at 1:44 p.m.

3000 block of Orange Avenue in La Crescenta, a half-inch in circumference dent was made on the rear passenger window of a vehicle between June 28 and 30.
4400 block of Chevy Chase Drive in La Cañada, the driver’s side window of a vehicle was smashed overnight.
4600 Alta Canyada Road in La Cañada, the front driver’s side window of a vehicle was smashed and a wallet was stolen overnight.
1200 block of Olive Lane in La Cañada, driver’s side window of a vehicle was shattered overnight.
4400 block of Gould Avenue in La Cañada, the driver’s side window of a vehicle was smashed overnight.
4400 block of Woodleigh Lane in La Cañada, the driver’s side front window of a vehicle was smashed and the glove box and center console were found open and items strewn throughout the vehicle overnight.

4600 block of Ocean View Boulevard in La Cañada, an iPad and duffle bag with baseball equipment were stolen from an unlocked vehicle between 9:30 p.m. and 10 p.m.
2200 block of Del Mar Road in Montrose, a 20-year-old Shadow Hills man was arrested after deputies found him and three other occupants in a vehicle. The deputy was responding to a call concerning “persons acting suspicious in a vehicle.” Upon approaching the vehicle, the deputy reportedly smelled a strong odor of alcohol emitting from the car. As the four people exited the vehicle, the deputy allegedly noticed all had glassy eyes and alcohol odor on their breath.
After an investigation, deputies discovered liquor and what appeared to be controlled substances. The Shadow Hills man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance appearing to be methamphetamine, suspicion of possession of marijuana and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
The incident occurred at 11 p.m.
