Starting the Independence Day festivities was a parade down Foothill Boulevard in Sunland-Tujunga. About 7,000 people lined up to see the 60 entries that ranged from dignitaries to local businesses and non-profits. The theme – “Sunland-Tujunga the Beautiful” reflected pride in the towns with members of the Sunland-Tujunga Neighborhood Council – Beautification Committee taking on the role of grand marshal.
The annual parade was organized by the Sunland-Tujunga Rotary Club.
“The Club is always looking for new members who want to be involved in supporting our club and our community outreach,” said organizer Krisse Armour. “As a Club, we hold events/gatherings, fundraise and support other local organizations. In August, we’ll be hosting a booth at National Night Out at Bolton Hall.”
