Deputies from the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to a call on Saturday at 5 p.m. concerning a home in the 5100 block of Alta Canyada Road in La Cañada.

When they arrived at the vacant home, they discovered 12 mature marijuana plants growing in the backyard. Each plant was about eight feet tall. Deputies did not find anyone in the home or surrounding area, according to Sgt. Ray Harley.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Narcotics Bureau detectivies are investigating.
