Foothill Boulevard and Rosemont Avenue in La Crescenta, deputies responded to a call concerning a man yelling at cars driving by the location. When they arrived they found a man making nonsense statements including yelling profanities and talking about sexual acts. He also thought he was being chased and needed to go to the hospital. He was barefoot, walking on a hot street surface and had motor oil on both of his feet. Deputies transported him to a local hospital at 8:52 a.m.

3100 block of El Caminito Street in La Crescenta, a 32-year-old La Crescenta man was arrested for criminal threats. According to the CV Sheriff’s report, a woman reported that her boyfriend, the suspect, began screaming at her for unknown reasons and threatened to kill her. He also threatened harm if she called the police to report his threats. They were at a home in Sunland at the time the threats were made. She remained at the home with the suspect until he fell asleep, then she called a friend for a ride. They drove to the suspect’s residence where the woman was staying. As they were driving northbound on La Crescenta Avenue from Foothill Boulevard, the suspect called her again and threatened her. She believed his threats due to his alleged methamphetamine drug abuse. She reportedly admitted to using illegal narcotics out of fear of the suspect who had physically assaulted her in the past for refusing to use narcotics. She said she was in fear for her life. After an investigation, deputies discovered the suspect standing in the driveway of a home in the 3100 block of El Caminito. A temporary restraining order was issued in his name and he was arrested. He allegedly continued to threaten her as he was being transported in the patrol unit.

2600 block Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta, deputies responded to an alarm call at O’Reilly’s Auto Parts.  Deputies found a glass door had been smashed and there was broken glass shattered along the sidewalk. There was a metal mallet or hammer on the floor just inside the door. No one was inside. A witness stated he witnessed a 2007 to 2009 white Toyota Sienna drive into the parking lot at the location. The vehicle pulled out of the witness’ view, and he then heard glass breaking and a loud alarm.  Seconds later he saw the white van drive south in the parking lot and westbound on Foothill Boulevard out of view at 2:05 a.m.


July 13
2700 block of Montrose Avenue in Montrose, a 43-year-old La Crescenta man was arrested for public intoxication. Deputies found the man staggering in the middle of the roadway. He appeared to be intoxicated. He reportedly told the deputy that he was homeless and had no place to stay. The deputy arrested him at 9:21 a.m.

2500 block of Manhattan Avenue in Montrose, a resident reported that someone entered her apartment and took an envelope containing cash that had been placed on her sofa in the living room. She had returned to her apartment and discovered her front door open; there were no signs of damage to the doorframe. She discovered several items had been moved and drawers and cabinets open between 2 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.
