A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of marijuana for sale after he was stopped in the 3400 block of Stancrest Drive in Glendale at 10:46 p.m.
A Glendale police officer noticed a man sitting in a vehicle that was parked along a curb line at the location. The officer walked over to the vehicle and began speaking with the man. He told the officer that he was heading home but was lost. The officer allegedly noticed the man had a lighter in his and what appeared to be marijuana “buds” on the driver’s floor mat and front seat.
The man told the officer he was using the lighter to smoke a cigarette; however there appeared to be no cigarettes in his vehicle. The two spoke about the alleged marijuana and the officer asked if perhaps the man was preparing to smoke that instead of a cigarette. The man reportedly admitted that was the case.
After an investigation the officer found several containers of what appeared to be marijuana and a digital scale. A cellphone was also found in the vehicle with messages that allegedly indicated marijuana sale inquiries. One of the calls that came in was a call from the man’s father. He told him he was being arrested.
