2400 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada Flintridge, a woman reported that her caregiver had taken her vehicle without her permission. According to the woman the caregiver had taken her vehicle without her permission on other occasions.
The vehicle theft occurred at 5:30 a.m.
July 15
2100 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada Flintridge, an employee reported that a male had entered the store and walked directly to the restroom in the back of the store. He entered the bathroom and closed the door. About five minutes later the employee heard a loud bang coming from the bathroom. The employee was concerned the man had a medical emergency and called emergency responders. When deputies arrived the bathroom was unoccupied but found that a sewing machine that was located about 10 feet away from the bathroom was missing. There was an emergency exit directly next to the bathroom; opening that door would trigger an alarm. However no alarm had been activated. The employee did not see anyone leave the bathroom.
The man was described as about 20 years old, 5’10” tall and weighing about 140 pounds and was wearing a blue dress. He had several tattoos as well.
The incident occurred between 8:25 p.m. and 9 p.m.
600 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada Flintridge, an employee was monitoring the store’s video surveillance cameras and observed a male, described as Black, about 40 years old, 5’7” tall and weighing 165 pounds and, at the time he was wearing a black shirt, black shorts and black shoes and had a black backpack. He walked into the women’s clothing department, grabbed articles of women’s clothing and exited the store without attempting to pay. As the male suspect exited the door the employee approached him and walked him back into the store without incident. The items were recovered.
As the female employee was speaking with the suspect he informed her he had a felony warrant in his name and started to become a agitated. To avoid confrontation the employee let the man leave the store. The suspect, who is known to the employee, had been seen at different locations taking items.
The incident occurred at 6:01 p.m.
July 14
600 block of Starlight Crest Drive in La Cañada Flintridge, a resident returned home to find the glass in a patio sliding door had been shattered and several rooms were ransacked. Nothing was reported stolen at the time.
The burglary occurred between 11 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
4900 block of Commonwealth Avenue in La Cañada Flintridge, a resident returned home to find the glass in a door had been shattered, rooms had been ransacked and several items had been stolen between 12:30 p.m. and 3:15 p.m.
July 13
900 block of Town Center Drive in La Cañada Flintridge, a woman reported that while she was shopping she placed her cellphone in the basket of her shopping cart. She reported that while shopping a male, described as Hispanic about 30 years old and wearing a blue and white baseball cap and blue jeans, approached her and asked if she spoke Spanish. She said she didn’t and a short time later discovered her cellphone was missing. She was able to use her tracking app and found it located in North Hills. Shortly after that she was unable to locate her phone.
The theft occurred between noon and 1:30 p.m.
