Los Angeles County Fire Chief Daryl L. Osby will ceremoniously hang his turnout coat and helmet on the Wall of Honor as he prepares to officially retire.
Chief Osby boasts a 38-year firefighting career with the Los Angeles County Fire Dept.; 11 of those years were spent as the department’s first African American fire chief.
At an open house on July 26, Chief Osby will be celebrated and honored for his extraordinary leadership, strategic vision and steadfast commitment to the department as he begins his well-deserved retirement.
His last day is July 30.
