The City of La Cañada Flintridge, in partnership with the La Cañada Unified School District, announced the grand opening of its newly updated pickleball courts at 4490 Cornishon Ave. The courts will open on Saturday, July 27 with hours Monday-Friday from 9:30 a.m. to dusk, and Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. to dusk.
This project marks a significant enhancement to the City’s recreational facilities, transforming the former skatepark into a fully functional court for pickleball lovers of all ages.
This renovation included:
• Resurfacing the court to ensure safe and high-quality play;
• Striping the courts to meet regulation standards;
• Installing new, durable nets for sustained use;
• Incorporating paddle racks for convenient equipment storage;
• Installing gates to enhance court security and accessibility;
• Adding new benches for players and spectators.
Upon completion, the facility will boast two permanent pickleball courts and one mixed-use court, accommodating both pickleball and basketball. This multi-purpose design strives to maximize both the utility and enjoyment of the space for all residents.
The City extends its gratitude to the La Cañada Unified School District for their support of this project, the LCF Pickleball Association for its help in designing the courts and to community members for their ongoing patience and support during the completion of the initiative.
