The La Crescenta Library will be hosting its fourth annual Chili Cook-Off on Saturday, beginning at 1 p.m. Last year’s cook-off attracted around 30 contestants with a teen group from Crescenta Valley High School winning the first place with its “robo” chili.
All are welcome to stop by and taste; there’s no charge to take part. Three ballots will be given to tasters so they can vote for their favorite chili dishes. Gift baskets will be awarded for first, second and third place as well as honorable mention. All contestants must have been registered for the event by Aug. 7. Contestants should come prepared to the cook-off with their own heating source (heat up to 140 degrees).
The La Crescenta Library is located at 2809 Foothill Blvd. in La Crescenta. The chili cook-off takes place upstairs in the community room.
