From the Desk of the Publisher

Oh, What a Night!

One week ago the Crescenta Valley Weekly not only had the pleasure of distributing our highly anticipated annual magazine The Finest but also hosted a celebration for those chosen by our readers as The Finest.

The response to the magazine has been outstanding; those chosen who took the opportunity to thank the community were pleased by how lovely the magazine is – and what an important resource it is when searching for the best services and businesses. I’m very proud to have the chance to share the opinions of our readers by highlighting those who have gone above and beyond and, after receiving nearly 13,000 votes, apparently our readers are delighted to have a chance to share their opinions.

The celebratory party was held at St. Luke’s of the Mountains. The courtyard was dotted with tables draped in lilac linens, courtesy of Bonners Equipment Rentals. A bar was set up on the upper walkway and, in Sadler Hall, Gourmet a go go laid out a spread that was beautiful and delicious! And for those who had room, Berolina Bakery brought in some of the tastiest brownies and lemon bars that I’ve ever had. Dave Silversparre tickled the ivories and, from the very start of the party, was welcoming and added a touch of class to our celebration. Thanks are also extended to the many people who shared their photos or took them specifically for CV Weekly, including Dick Clubb. (To see photos, turn to page 5. More online!)

I have an abundance of gratitude to everyone, including St. Luke’s which opened its doors for tours of the historic church, for making sure our annual party was a success.

Not to forget, last week I spotlighted my crew who makes sure everything we do at CV Weekly is “the finest;” I am forever grateful to them, too.
