The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is constructing a soundwall along the Glendale (SR 2) Freeway between Oak Glen Place and Rosebud Avenue.
The construction of the new soundwall will require the following closures, which are subject to change, on northbound SR-2:
Tuesday, August 18, through Friday, August 21
Northbound SR-2
10 p.m. to 5 a.m. – Up to two lanes between Glendale Blvd (SR-2) and Golden State
Freeway (I-5)
10 p.m. to 5 a.m. – Riverside Drive off- ramp and connectors to Golden State Freeway (I-5)
CLOSED between Glendale Boulevard (SR-2) and Golden State Freeway (I-5)
Currently, work is scheduled to continue daily from 5:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Construction dust and noise is anticipated as crews excavate and remove dirt, grind surface layers of pavement and perform other related tasks.
This project may require FULL Freeway closures. Advance notices will be provided.
Detours will be posted. Minor delays are expected. The California Highway Patrol will be on duty. Peterson-Chase Construction is the contractor on this $8.6 million project which is expected to complete in early 2016.
