As a man in his 80s slept in his parked vehicle on Foothill Boulevard near Pinewood Avenue in Tujunga a black BMW driving traveling on Foothill Boulevard at a reported high rate of speed struck his vehicle killing him.

The fatal accident occurred about 1:30 a.m. on Monday.

The driver of the BMW fled the scene but returned and turned himself into police, according to a Los Angeles police spokesman.
