The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag warning for dry lightening and gusty winds from midnight to 5 p.m. today.
“Dry lightening may be from thunderstorms that is so high base that there is no rain,” said Curt Caplan, meteorologist from the National Weather Service.
Early this morning there was not much thunderstorm activity however Caplan said that may change later in the afternoon. Wind gusts could get up to 40 miles per hour.
There is a 20 percent chance of rain in the mountains and desert. The real concern is the dry lightening, possible winds and dry vegetation conditions in the nearby mountains.
