See’s Candies Store in La Canada Flintridge Robbed by Lone Suspect

The See’s Candies store in La Canada Flintridge was robbed at 6 p.m. on Monday by a single, unarmed suspect. The suspect obtained an unknown amount of cash before fleeing on foot, westbound on Verdugo Boulevard from Foothill Boulevard.

The suspect entered the store and ordered the two female employees to lock the door and give him the money from the cash registers. The suspect simulated having a weapon under his long sleeve shirt, but no weapon was seen and he did not threaten to harm the employees. The employees complied with the suspect’s demands by placing an unknown amount of cash into a store bag. Neither employee was injured.

There were no customers in the store during the robbery. However, the suspect did encounter a female customer in the parking lot as he exited the store and calmly told her that the store was closed. The customer proceeded to enter the store and discovered they had just been robbed.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 25 to 30 years old, 6’00” tall, and 190 pounds.  He was wearing a blue long sleeve shirt, blue jeans, dark sunglasses, and a green ball cap with white lettering on the front.
