Glendale police responded to a call at 7:53 p.m. tonight [Friday] concerning a young pedestrian that had been struck by a vehicle in the 2800 block of North Verdugo Road, near Glorietta Park.
The 12-year-old pedestrian was transported to the hospital in serious condition.
The driver of the vehicle failed a field sobriety test and has been arrested for driving under the influence, said Tahnee Lightfoot, Glendale Police Dept. spokeswoman.
Verdugo Road continues to be closed to all traffic as of 8:45 p.m.
Glendale police are continuing the investigation. CVW will update as information becomes available.
