Before, During and After the Station Fire
The Historical Society of Crescenta Valley will be noting the anniversary of the Station Fire with a photo exhibition of “Deukmejian Park – Before During and After the Station Fire.” An opening reception will take place on Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the La Crescenta Library.

YOUNG PEOPLE TO 
MEMORIALIZE 9-11 VICTIMS
A special memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 11 at La Cañada Flintridge Memorial Park at 9 a.m. to remember and memorialize the over 3,000 victims of the terror attacks at the World Trade Center in New York City, the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. and over the farmlands of Pennsylvania. The event is being sponsored and conducted by members of the Young Republicans of La Cañada Flintridge. The non-partisan event will include memorial speeches by young members of local high schools, as well as by notable public officials including LCF Mayor Don Voss, Assemblyman Anthony Potation, members of the La Cañada Flintridge City Council, Congressman David Dreier and others.
The memorial service will include an invocation by Rev. Gary Dennis of La Cañada Presbyterian Church and a benediction by Monsignor Antonio Cacciapouti, pastor of St. Bede the Venerable Catholic Church. Music will be provided by the La Cañada High School band and participating members of the high school choral group. Students from St. Francis High School, Flintridge Academy of the Sacred Heart, and Flintridge Prep will also participate as well as representatives of the Los Angeles Sheriffs Department, the Los Angeles County Fire Department and members from other local fire and police departments.
Members of the public are urged to attend. Admission is free.

National Park Service Hosts Public Meetings,
Announces Public Comment Period for Rim of the Valley Corridor Special Resource Study
The National Park Service (NPS) is hosting public meetings throughout the area to introduce the Rim of the Valley Corridor Special Resource Study, explain the study process, answer questions, and listen to public ideas and concerns. Meetings near Crescenta Valley include Sept. 15 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and again from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at  Los Angeles River Center and Gardens, 570 W. Avenue 26, L.A. 90065; on Sept. 21 from 7 p.m to 9 p.m.at George A. Caravalho Santa Clarita Sports Complex, 20880 Centre Point, Santa Clarita, 91350; on Oct. 5 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Northeast Valley City Hall, 7747 Foothill Blvd., Tujunga, 91042; at the Charles S.
