Keeping with tradition, on Wednesday, Sept. 10 the Crescenta Valley, La Cañada Flintridge, and Montrose-Verdugo City chambers of commerce will host the 13th Annual Foothills Community Business Expo. The event will be held from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the fourth floor council rooms of the USC Verdugo Hills Hospital and is free to attend. As in past years, local companies will be present to inform guests of their services and promote their businesses.
All businesses hoping to participate were selected as of Aug. 18, and all available booth space has been filled, ensuring guests a wide variety of companies to support and more opportunities to learn about them. Each of these businesses will showcase all that they have to offer the community. In the past, some booths held raffles where guests could sign up to win prizes. Many different types of businesses will be present, including Crescenta Cañada Pet Hospital, Montrose Travel, YMCA of the Foothills, and La Cañada Smiles Dentistry, to name just a few.
Along with the other organizations, local restaurants will also be present providing complimentary food for those who stop by. Pepe’s Mexican Restaurant, Montrose Bakery and Café, Straw Hat Pizza, and Gio’s Baguettes and More will be serving up tastes of their fare.
“[Because] there will be food there, [guests] don’t have to worry about dinner,” added CV Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Lisa Mitchell when describing guests who arrived in the past after getting off work.
The Business Expo also coincides with Tri-Community Shred Day, hosted by Allied Waste Services. While the Expo is taking place inside, two shredding trucks will be outside in the hospital parking lot for anyone who needs to shred personal documents. There is a limit of 10 boxes per person, and there will be an express line for those guests with three boxes or less. There is no cost.
Though it lasts until 7:30 p.m., Mitchell recommends getting to the Expo as early as possible.
“The Expo is always very well-attended and usually pretty packed,” she said.
The 13th Annual Foothills Community Business Expo is at the USC-VHH, 1812 Verdugo Blvd., Glendale.
