A 17-year-old boy on a bicycle collided with a vehicle on Thursday, Aug. 24 at about 7:35 a.m., according to California Highway Patrol.
“It was a minor injury accident,” said Officer Lough.
A vehicle was heading southbound from a driveway on Foothill Boulevard near Cloud Avenue. The bicyclist was heading eastbound when he collided with the vehicle, he said.
“The vehicle came to a stop at the driveway,” Lough said. “The bicyclist was [riding] on the sidewalk.”
The bicyclist had minor abrasions. The vehicle’s front bumper was detached.
The investigation is ongoing.
Lough advises auto drivers to make sure they have enough time to get to their destination. Bicyclists are advised to wear a helmet when riding a bicycle.
“The [bicyclist] was not wearing a helmet,” Lough said. “[The accident] could have been much worse.”
