Right after the new school year began, Crescenta Valley High School is seeing another change in its administration.
Forest Holbrock left his position as assistant principal at CVHS to become assistant principal at Huntington Beach Isaac Sowers Middle School. Holbrock had only been at the school for a year; prior to that he was a teacher at Glendale High School.
Holbrock had recently gotten married and moved to Huntington Beach, so the move was a logistical decision, according to CVHS Principal Dr. Linda Junge.
The position of assistant principal was vacant for a few weeks before Linda Mackessy joined the CVHS staff.
“Ms. Mackessy brings experience as an assistant principal at Maranatha (Pasadena) and Trabuco Hills High School (Mission Viejo). She has also served as a dean of Students at Arcadia High School, as well as teaching social science and PE previously in her career,” Junge said in a PhoneEd to parents in late August.
Mackessy will take on many of the responsibilities previously housed in the assistant principal office, including the alpha Mo-Z caseload, Junge added.
Mackessy’s start date was Tuesday, Sept. 8.
