Why: In 2012, Assemblyman Gatto formed a Small Business Advisory Commission to advise him on the challenges facing small businesses in the region. For example, working with his commission, Assemblyman Gatto introduced AB 227, which will protect small businesses from unfair lawsuits related to Prop. 65. Last year, Assemblyman Gatto authored and co-authored several bills to support small businesses including AB 1616 (The California Homemade Food Act), AB 2026 (The Film Industry Tax Credit), and AB 1900, a bill which created an entirely new in-state biofuel industry. This workshop is the latest in a series of steps by Gatto to grow the local economy and help small businesses thrive.
“As lawmakers, we have a duty to do what we can to support small businesses in our community,” said Gatto. “I hope that this workshop will help local businesses engage their customers with Facebook and other social media.”
